I experienced the same problem on xubuntu 12.04. Installing the package gsfonts-x11 alone does not seem to fix the problem, even if it is followed by a restart. After I installed this package I also had to do a reinstall of xfig, transfig, and xfig-libs followed by a restart of the system to make t

Hello, I had this problem too, and I guess they didn't install the ghost script fonts by default with the Mint 13 installation. Anyway, there is an easy workaround that worked for me: install the gsfonts-x11 package via software manager, and restart your system. I hope that helps, Luiz -- You r
