The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable

The dmesg fix only stops the messages flooding the console.
It doesn't actually fix the reason for the messages showing up in the
first place, so dmesg will still report the problem, as it should do.

I cannot get the dmesg fix to work. Do I have to restart any process
after the change?

For what it's worth, this obviously prevents the CompactFlash, Secure
Digital and Memory Stick slots from working.

Quick fix.
Log in, then run:
sudo dmesg -n 1
This will prevents all messages, expect panic messages, from appearing
on the console.
Alternatively (not tested), try adding "-c 1 " to the KLOGD= assignment
in "/etc/init.d/klogd", then restart it.

Same here. After installing 7.04 from the alternate ISO for the PS3, my
console is spammed just as above.

I have the same problem with my 7.04 install from the alternate install
ISO. Using the console is affectively impossible as those error messages
keep coming rather fast.
