I had the motherboards on 2 c6220 nodes replaced. These motherboards
came with BIOS version 1.0.21. I have just done about an hour of
testing and can confirm that nox2apic does not fix the reboot issue on
these two servers. I tried several kernel versions as well -- no
difference.

Confirmed: nox2apic does not have any effect here. Also there's no
option to disable x2apic in the bios.
nolapic works, but then Linux only sees a single core, so that's not
acceptable.

Btw, I upgraded to the latest BIOS (A02 / 1. 0.28). This seems to have
no effect on this bug (and there is a typo in my last comment - should
be nox2apic)
