I got all 16 USB ports on the hub recognized by plugging it into the
usbC port. A few things needed to happen in advance for that to work. 1.
Supply power through PoE (or GPIO on the Pi4). 2. Switch the USB C port
to host mode, and using the dwc2 driver. 3. Reboot Pi4. It's down to
USB2.0 speed tho
I understand there is no way around the 32 device limit on the VL805
using USB3. But I'm nowhere near 32 devices, yet. On the Pi4 I don't
even have a keyboard plugged in. It has one 16port USB3 hub, and I'm
only able to plug in 6 hard drives on it when the hub is on a USB3 port,
or 12 hard drive
As a minimal I'd like to utilize all the 16 ports on this usb hub. usb3
would be preferred but usb2 is acceptable. so this limit is not on the
OS and on Windows I'd have the same issue with 1 single USB controller?

(4GB or 8GB ram model), and then plug in external powered hard drives
into the hub, when I reach the sixth or seventh or maximum 8th drive, OS

that the signal quality dropped from -30dBm to -40dBm, before I lost the

I'm using a 18.04 upgraded from 17.10 and I have the same issue but slightly
different.
The difference is that if I lock the screen for more than a certain amount of
time, when I wake it up, I find myself logged out.
And to get away the blanked screen, I used Alt+F2 and then Alt+F1, and the gdm
while installing ubuntu 18.04 beta2 , the same error appears.

Final update on this. It turned out that using the 2.4 Ghz band was much
more stable than 5 Ghz, which got wedged within minutes, but conditions
eventually worsened until even on 2.4 Ghz without much internet usage it
would get wedged every few hours. I then tried out various kernel
versions on 16.
Also now experiencing this bug after 17.10 upgrade - never had a problem
before. Wifi still works fine on the Windows side of dual boot so
probably software issue. Messing with swcrypto, rfkill, power management
off, WOL off doesn't seem to have any effect. I tried different older
ucode versions fr

GNOME applications since 3.4 that have undergone a redesign or are new, e.g.

I also met this problem. My solution was to 1st remove emacs22 (and all
packages depend on it), then reinstall emacs22. It works.
