status report:
the bug is still here but in a weird way.. plasma starts with one
screen black.. deactivating/activating it in kscreen systemsettings
brings
i use this repo (kde neon) http://archive.neon.kde.org/tmp/testing
which delivers an up2date plasma 5.6.4 and Qt 5.6 and the bug is still there..
sometimes the display configurations is messed up and if i disconnect (sleep or
power off) one of my screens, plasma is gone :(

i just edited the file
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/casper
then executed
sudo update-initramfs -u
and now i'm rebuilding my life system (this takes a while)
hopefully i interchanged the right lines..
i found out that installing unionfs-fuse works as a solution for this problem
(a retry with another flashdrive got the system to boot properly)
BUT fuse is not really a solution since overlayfs or aufs are faster..
the problem narrows down to one question
"why is overlayfs or aufs not available
ok... i just found out that installing "unionfs-fuse"

sidux vs kubuntu
both kde4.4.3 desktops on the very same system (hardware) - almost the
same config.
sidux is much more responsive .. on my sdd, apps start almost
immediately in sidux.. on kubuntu i see a bouncing cursor.. i found
that very interesting because i can not think of any cause of thi

"wide links = yes" (not wide SYMlinks)
on lucid i also had to install some other packages to make it work (like
samba-tools smbfs libpam-mount winbind) sorry i don't know which one does the
trick (i believe smbfs)

an akonadi-resource in systemsettigs-advanced-kderesources, adding
"personal contacts" and importing my contacts ) the problem exists only
on first start of kontact... running "akonadictl start" before makes
the problem dissape

(just a small change to the desktop link to work around this bug)
In 2 cases i experienced the problem was that akonadi was not there when
kontact loaded the contacts component.. starting akonadi before kontact makes
the problem disappear..

I just upgraded to the latest Openoffice3 version for intrepid
(from this source: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu
intrepid main)
and openoffice keeps crashing when i try to save a document or to export as pdf
or to save as an other document..

create the missing mcrypt.so in /etc/php5/conf.d/ and insert the
following line
extension=mcrypt.so
then restart apache
