Program windows in Ubuntu can be moved by holding "alt" and left-clicking. This
will allow the window to be dragged so that all areas of the program can be
seen.

This fixed my problem and may fix yours as linux then is forced to use that
speed irregardless of the 80-wire cable being detected.
