I'm not sure this bug has been completely fixed. I'm running Ubuntu
15.04 and it's not picking up certificates that the rest of the system
is picking up (I checked that curl and wget were fetching the URL's
correctly while verifying certificates).

Yeah, 9.10 was flawless, and now things aren't working.
The newest Kernel does not get rid of the problem, though it does make it
better than the previous one.

I'm now using 2.6.32-24-generic-pae and it seems like the problem has
disappeared.
If I start disconnecting again, I'll come back and post an update here.

I have a Lenovo w500 and this happens to me as well.
I also believe it might have been introduced with the kernel release mentioned
by Rick.
I'm updating to the next kernel right now, and I'll report if that fixes
things.
