Public bug reported:
Alt+Space menu is a vital part of many users like me that use multiple OS
(especially windows).
I personally use it for Move, Maximize, Restore, Hide and even close as a habit.
Traditionally this has been supported in Ubuntu as well as it has been in other
OS's..
But with 2
Use pidgin instead. empathy has been unuseable for years now. I have no
idea why its still default with Ubuntu anyways. Pidgin integrates with
unity panel and runs in the background. It even has more features.

Any update on this bug for 13.04?
I installed it on a different partition and could not use the laptop because of
the heating problem. When I installed Ati driver to switch to Intel Graphics,
it had the same behaviour.
I thought Ati might have had this bug fixed by now for good, it has been more
Never mind, I found the files in your launchpad archives and now its all fine.

Nick, I upgraded my xserver-xorg-video-intel by mistake and now my
system doesn't start in full graphics. I could not find the patched deb
in your repo now and as mentioned earlier the new ati beta still doesn't
work with radeon hd7xxxm. Kindly see if you can send me the file
somehow.

Did not work for me. I downloaded the tarball from ati website a couple of days
ago. I did not really check te error i got this time though.. aticonfig did not
give any error, unlike earlier but the system started in low graphics mode.
I just switched to previous ati driver because I highly doubt
I gave this up.
Compared the source code of 3.4 and 3.5 and realized they have removed the
options from source. I thought earlier they might have just disabled them. It
is sad the way empathy is moving just like gnome...
I installed pidgin with elementary icon them and I couldn't be more happy.
Any update on this?
There is also no sort order on contact list. This is making using empathy
virtually impossible.
Is there a patch of some sort that perhaps can be used?

Yes I am able to. In fact I am using the integrated card currently as it does
not over heat my system.
There is a bug in enabling the igpu. The workaround is mentioned in the thread:

nice Nick.
It worked like a charm for me at least. Even the Integrated card driver, so now
there is no over-heating.
Finally i am using 12.10 and enjoying it rather.
I hope they fix this dependency problem, because now I have to be very careful
while updating the system that I do not update my i

I am facing the same problem since I installed Ubuntu 12.10. I have AMD
Radeon™ HD7550M with Intel Hybrid card.
The default driver (not fglrx) that comes with Ubuntu makes the system
so slow that it is almost impossible to use in production or even
casually for watching a bunch of videos for that
Why has this bug not being addressed yet?
Drag and Drop becomes a vital part of developers' lives.
Also, now Ubuntu is more focusing on end user as a consumer for Ubuntu.
For a normal user, drag and drop is all there is.
