When I open a file with gnumeric across ssh i.e. gnumeric
sftp://r...@atmgrasp/home/rick/pub/time.gnumeric, the edited file is
saved it is saved in my home directory, i.e. /home/rick/time.gnumeric

I have the same behavior, same version. This is not fixed in other
bugs.
My feeling is that reversing the direction on the slider is the proper
fix.

I'm not sure why this bug has been assigned low importance. I am
experiencing serious lag times on a large file server with lots of media
to the point that I am about to investigate options other than eog,
which I now consider functionally unusable.
