on maverick with a vaio vpcs111fm ,I installed dkms modules from comment #81
,same conclusion
left speaker not working ,i was able to use int mic
i was able to use external mic ,using hda analiser and moving some value
(but you need to do this every time you reboot ) ,no way for the other
speake
i got the same message

on two vaio laptop with maverick fresh install (one with kernel 2.6.36
for another sound bug)
the file system is remounted after boot
one of the computer is new ,the other was with karmic and lucid without
this probleme (boot time longer on maverick than lucid or karmic)

i have made this
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
Add nomodeset into /etc/default/grub --> GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nomodeset"
save and run update-grub then reboot
and i don t have anymore the drm fault message ,
if i m right the probleme come with KMS
is there any probleme to diseable KMS??

i have just made a fresh installation of lucid ,my problem is still here
the solution that i used before is not solving the problem ,on my case the
connection drop every 10min and reconnect
this is ok to download any torrent files ,but not for live chat ,and for
example tranferring large file on
the same message with lucid (32bits)
there was no probleme with karmic
graphic cards intel 945gm

i have a linksys 160N too
i hane 2 vaio laptops with karmic ,one doesn t have any problem with this
router and doesnt have any deconnection
the second with the 3945abg card was a problem ,bigger on jaunty than karmic
(but still a problem)
i had good result after making this (i find it on a fotrum
i have installed 9.10 and the problem seems to be solved too on my vaio laptop
(some other issues too)
