I cannot revert as my previous try was to remove all, deleting manually
all folders, and than reinstall. So I don't have prevoous version anymor
on my HD and it seems it isn't installable anymore from snap. I'm using
now the deb package provided by slack team, it works. I'm going to

Today, after a reboot, I'm not able anymore to run slack app. I can see
its window starting to drow but than it crashed. I cannot see useful
information on journal. I'm running a Ubuntu 20.04 and the varsion of
slack is 4.7 (the latest stable, updated 7 days ago)

temperature goes too high and system shutdown do tu hw protection).
Luckly the latest 20.04 kernel (5.4.0.39) seems to not be affected by
this proble anymore, so I switched again on the official packetized
kernel

ppa/mainline/v5.7-rc7/ as suggested by @kaihengfeng and it seems to
work! I there a way to add the PPA to apt repositories (I downloads all
packages and installed directly using dpkg)?

I noticed that the CPU temperature during the 1-2 minutes before system freeze,
were a bit higher than on 5.4.0.26 kernel (the only I can use right now)

I think nomodeset is related to issue during OS loading, isn't it? In my
case, I'm able to lo into gnome and the freeze occour 1-2 minutes after,
in a running X session...

Tried today te latest 5.0.31, same problem
I tried 5.0.31 low latency too, I could use with no issue for some minutes, but
I cannot use it as it seems to overheat my CPU (about 20° overn the temperature
I have now with 5.0.26)

I got this issue on Ubuntu 20.04 too... on this laptop I had a similar
problem on the 19.10, the touchpad didn't work at all after resum from
suspend, i used to fix that calling
sudo rmmod i2c_hid
sudo modprobe i2c_hid
and it works too on this issue on 20.04, shall we provide some more
