Using Ubuntu 10.10 in Acer Travelmate 5520G laptop. WLAN works fine when
running with AC power, but as soon as I remove the cord wlan connection
stops working, it can connect and remain connected to a network but you
simply can't access any webpages. I have tried Broadcom's ow
I get this error mesage with Ubuntu 10.10 running ATI X1250 but only
sometimes and after I resume from suspend. Most of the time suspend /
wake works well.

Hi, unfortunately I cannot reproduce this bug anymore, I think it is
because I was trying to find a way to disable the password prompt window
(screen lock) which appears after I wake from suspend. I managed to get
rid of it by using gconf-editor. Probably this was a bug in gnome
itself?

I have Acer Travelmate 5520G laptop which has integrated memory card
reader, capable of reading SD, MMC and XD-cards. LSPCI idenfies the
reader like this:

I have Acer Travelmate 5520 and I have discovered following bugs with
Ubuntu 10.04 (Linux 2.6.32-24-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP):
1) The indicator light for Broadcom Wireless card works wrong way, when
the card is ON the light does not glow and when it is OFF the light does
glow.
But the wireless card did function on that USB 1.1 machine when using
Windows XP so the device itself is not incompatible with 1.1 speed,
apparently.

Okay, this is strange. I upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 LTS, the wireless
did not function after the update, but when I did install linux-
firmware-nonfree the wireless started to work and it connected to the
network. The big (?) difference in this situation is that my older

My machine has crashed with the Intersil ISL3886 card so the bug is

I can change the speed manually with iwconfig but I have pretty unstable
signal after that. The card works perfectly in Windows XP so it is

I did replace the file and follow the instructions.
Doom95 is much more stable now than before, I tested running the game 5
times, it worked perfectly on first 4 and crashed only when quitting the

Bit offtopic (maybe) but I am now using Xubuntu 9.04 instead. However,
it displayed that same message, "error while querying..". I installed
new firmware from the link you gave and I can confirm that the error
message now longer appears.
