I've recently encountered problems with PulseAudio in SDL apps. My current
setting is to install libsdl-all and setting SDL_AUDIODRIVER depending on the
application I want to launch (thus, I have to launch them manually or create
scripts, as with libsdl-all ALSA supercedes ESD/PulseAudio and it

SDL apps need the engine set in your system (if you use PulseAudio,
you'll need libsdl-pulseaudio, if you use ALSA, you need libsdl-alsa).
But there is a bug in SDL with PulseAudio, which leads to crashes when
using libsdl-alsa with SDL apps.

libsdl-all is indeed the unified package that include every sound

1) every independant engine excludes the others (i.e. installing
libsdl-pulseaudio removes libsdl-alsa for example)

I've had the problem again and I can now reproduce it. It seems to come from a
specific mix of root/user file access in subdirectories.
1. create a directory as simple user : mkdir testfolder1
2. inside this directory, create another one as root : sudo mkdir testfolder2
3. in that one, put a user

someone on the french Ubuntu forum reported no problem.
If it is of any help, I can add that if I put a CD that can't be read by

I've just bought a laptop on which I installed Gutsy (on my desktop PC, it had
been upgraded from Feisty <- Edgy <- Dapper). Strangely enough, the scrollwheel
of the tablet mouse works as expected, although I'm not sure the tablet is set
up correctly: it is set up in xorg.conf but I have not set

I understand it's not easy to reproduce the bug but the problem isn't the fact
that undeletable files can get to the trash (this is only a trigger) : it's the
difference between the way Nautilus and the Gnome applet manage the trash ; the
latter doesnt display a warning dial
I tried the following :
1. create a directory in my home / create a root dummy file in it / move it to
the trash and empty the trash.
It worked without problem.
2. same thing but chowning the file to "nobody" (tried to change group too but
the "nobody" group doesn't exist ; I don't remember what

After switching to Glider theme, the full field is drawn in red.
Note that the color change according to the field : it is red (#FF)
when GPar2 says that the file cannot be repaired but it's drawn green
(#00FF00) when a file is complete and blue (#FF) when it can be
repaired.

- "ij" is badly ligatured
- "st" is replaced (on screen) by "t"
- "fl" is badly ligatured
