I just updated my NVIDIA driver on Kubuntu 20.04. I had to use a konsel
and issue the rebbot command to bypass this problem. Could this be a
problem with NVIDIA drivers.

figure out how to get it to boot the 16.10 DVD. The updater said I could
upgrade and eventually get to a supported version. When I run the
upgrade it can't get the i386 packages. It's Kubuntu.

Since the fix sudo rm

not work then perhapes this is not a duplicate.

I was updating Kubuntu and
I am not sure but I think this may be the package: update-manager.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04.
I expected it to update my system. It downloaded, but while It while It
was applying the updates It got an unexpected error. It failed with no
backtrace.
I just upgraded to the new version from 8.10. I have an AT&T USBConnect
Quicksilver broadband device that Network Manager can not see! It shows
up as a cd drive. I can not find a way to get Network Manager to see
it.
