Hello Stefan, I have tried with the following PPA: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/texworks/stable/ubuntu precise main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/texworks/stable/ubuntu precise main And it did work without any problem, likewise, the issue was from the repository that I had in a source list.
