totem and smplayer are fine but when I play a movie with or chat in skype I get
a crackling sound for 2 to 3 seconds.this happens when ever I forward the
video.Please help me fix this problem.I tried to re install complete codecs but
no use.

Some times my system dies with lines on the screen just after I close the
screen.I don't know the reason but it happens once in 5-7 lid closing tasks.I
just upgraded to 12.10 with some hopes of stability but even now it dies and I
usually get crash report saying suspend/res
