I was wondering if there's any progress with this bug ? is it still
there? I was about to make a purchase of PCs with this processor and I
found this report .. what do you think ? is it in Lucid also ?

I have uninstalled the package and I confirm that the internal mic works
just by adding "model=auto".

I have tested this on a Sony Vaio FW170J with a fresh install of Karmic
+ linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic and I had to add the line
"options snd-hda-intel model=auto" for the mic to work.
