i am so glad i found this - i have been using WSL2 on 2 seperate windows
10 PC's and it differs from PC to PC and my home desktop was unable to
connect after an update and I have been struggling with it all day, but
now all is fixed
down side is I can now work from home :(

I find that having to logout to switch cards wastes time as you can do
it on the fly. It also helps when the PC comes back from suspend or
hibernate you can simply turn on the discrete and back to integrated to
reduce the fan noise.

manuallly chown of brightness and vga switcheroo files and do not include
the chown commands in the rc.local as it does nothing.
remove the gnome-session-quit command from the "switchcards.sh" as it
creates a log out message if I want to switch card

i forgot to mention that I have a bug fix for this issue; turn the
discrete card on and off for the fan to stop running

also have you checked to see via synclient if your touchpad is being
recognised as clickpad:
synclient -l
if it says Clickpad=0 then your touchpad is not being recognised as a
clickpa

Hi Bryce,
It was a fresh install of 12.04.
Initially everything was working fine on the intel graphics but after
upgrade it all went wrong and I could not use unity or multiple
monitors.
The issue with the drop down menu bug was only when I have multiple
monitors.
By doing what I done above eve
i have the same issue in 12.04. when i change the view to party mode the
application crashes

to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and a quick reboot has fixed the
problem.
