Totem menubar is displayed in fullscreen mode
I was looking for how to fullscreen Totem in Lubuntu. The menu bar is
still there after pressing f11 and after the other controls disappear. I
confirmed it affects a Gnome session, it also affects LXDE sessions, and
it does not affect the Ubuntu default session.

I spent about 8 hours trying different methods mentioned above, to
repair a 14.04 upgrade from 13.10. The method that worked for me was
boot-repair, selecting standard repair with the "rename Windows files"
option (aka rename EFI files.)

I didn't get updates for a few weeks (last auto update 9 December 2013,
after 8 December 2014 update-notifier was updated, until I manually
updated about 4 Jan
Lubuntu still distributes 7.0.1 as its NetBeans package. The suggested
fix worked, so I put it in my start menu shortcut as:
/usr/bin/netbeans -cp:a /usr/share/java/xercesImpl.jar
