You can close this bug. I solved my problem by doing sudo dpkg-
reconfigure xserver-xorg and using the "Display" applet to set this up.

When I change the ServerLayout section to LeftOf instead of RightOf, the
cursor works fine on the gdm login screen. But as soon as I login, I
get the following /var/log/syslog

I had an issue with my machine. It appears that it was an issue with ext4.
I did an fsck and it corrected many of the problems, but I would eventually
end up in read only mode. I eventually reformatted and resinstalled with
ex3 and my problems went away.

This appears to be an issue for any account in Evolution. I am unable
to verify signatures on emails that I know are valid. Verified using
