I experience exactly the same symptoms here (extremely slow typing
speed, Dolphin very slow...), though it does not seem to be restricted
to okular. It periodically happens when several of the following
applications are running (this is my typical working environment):
Azureus/Vuze, Dolphin, Dropbo
Sorry, but I have switched to openSuSE a long time ago (note that I
filed this bug in november 08!). Hence, I am not going to investigate
