Even with yesterday and today's updates, it still does not work for me.
It does allow me to retain the cursor after saving the first time but
after two or three changes and saves the cursor disappears again.

I am having the same problem, only it affects me (no sound) when the
volume level is less than 50% and no matter how I adjust the master
volume. I have a gateway mx6448 and my sound card info is:
scand...@scl:~$ aplay -l
List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0
I actually have the same problem. Like the previous poster, I'm not sure
what caused it but I also only move items to the trash via right-click
or the delete key on the keyboard.
