2. If mouse cursor leaves the launcher before timeout (for example - one
second), hide the launcher immediately.
3. If mouse cursor stays for longer than timeout, use current behaviour

means that Compiz allocated some memory and had a pointer to it, but
when he tried to release this memory, pointer pointed to region of
memory that is invalid or has already been freed (not allocated
anymore). It's clearly a bug.
If users will for example write to omgubuntu.co.uk, they'll make a poll,
and ordinary users will be able to vote if they want this feature or not
- so we'll see really how many users want this "feature".

It was a bug in Alarm Clock, indeed. But, it's still a bug in other
package too - with this bug, a userspace application can hang the whole
user's machine on purprose - this is called a virus. This can be used
even by some malicious Firefox extensions. I strongly recommend someone
to take a look at
Go to alarm-clock.pl and download alarm-clock-0.9.19 - fixes the bug.
Ubuntu packagers can update the package so it won't cause freeze
anymore. It can be easily packaged, because it's a small update of
Python version.

So if it's not a PyGTK bug, it must be Python. Basically, Python is a
scripting language so it *SHOULD NOT* be able to crash entire machine.
If it does, then there's a bug in Python. I'll try to create the new

As I've told before, this isn't Alarm Clock's fault.
Why? Because this is written in Python and from Python side I can't even
manage memory to crash like this. There is a bug in Python binding to
some library in new Ubuntu (I know because it crashes for me too).
The only way to manage memory is t
If the C version works, this bug is no longer valid.
Also, it's an Ubuntu problem that the screen freezes - Python is just a
scripting language and shouldn't be even able to hang the whole system.
