The split size must not be smaller than the biggest file inside the
archive. Most of the times, this fact renders this tool to useless...

Hi,
this one solved my problem:
go in the mixer
click on "Select Controls" and mark everything
close and put volume to max in all parameters
go to "switches" and disable everything
this was my solution when i had the same problem
