I am running 24.10 and the previous workaround would give me no shim
error and would immediately return back to the boot menu. I forced a
phased grub update on an HP Victus 15-fb1XXX and memtest I had
previously signed as previously now works fine.

When running nvidia-smi, I get very slow results and apparent memory leak
filling up paging space.
Occasionally see 'killed' message, but not often as I have 32 GB real memory

Given the complete lack of any feedback after 8 months and now 24.04
being released, which ships a newer version not affected by this bug, I

with:

Probably an issue with libc causes ls and tar to core dump when run, so
don't know how I can get you files as requested.

CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING. Here are some relevant-looking bits of the logs.
