I can confirm this bug for Hardy 8.04.1with nVidia 7600 and nvidia-glx-new.
I have not seen this problem before I got latest automatic updates on 8.04.1.
Never had this problem with 8.04.

Hello Pedro
The problem occurs when I'm moving the handle between Interpreter and
Duration column. Yes, Visual Effects is switched on (and causes a lot of
other strange things).

The procedure to reproduce the error is as follows:
1. Start EOG
2. Rotate a picture
3. Save the rotated picture
4. Go to the next picture (happens automatically)
5. Do steps 2 to 4 several times
6. After approx. 10 repetitions EOG freezes without an error message
