for clarification, ubuntu 15.04/cups 2.0.2, system-config-printer

network-enabled printer such as Brother MFC-8380DN, is visible.

printer attached to ubuntu pc/cups (various versions) with shared set, is not
visible.

i spoke too soon.
i got a pc working somehow, on a laptop, i did the same setup and conf
and nothing works.

if Shared is unchecked, printer is visible in cups webgui; it does not list in
system-config-printer and print dialogs.

thanks for the suggestion. have been relying on scp the file and lpr on
remote.
now, i think i got it working? attached cupsd.conf.

after stopping cups, i rm printers.conf and deleted the network printers
entry from printers.conf.O
restarted cups
using cups webgui, manually added the network printers with "Share"
field checked.
all the printers as seen in cups webgui now appears in ubuntu print
dialogs and in system-config-p
In system-config-printer you can turn on and off listing of discovered
printers via the "View" menu. What is your setting there?

so am back to using terminal and wvdial; openvpn in terminal also when i

1. entered 2/11/2010 (november 2, 2010) and voila, it automatically give me
2/11/2011
2. everytime i enter the first entry, it will reject it as invalid date, have
to reenter the date, once it is accepted, subsequent entries are ok.
3. cannot archive transactions, cannot get pa
today, i disabled card 2 (see above post) that's running a separate
xserver, leaving just card 1 driving 2 monitors on twinview. reboot, and
so far, the freeze problem haven't shown up yet.
so is there some problem running 2 xserver?

nautilus ssh file transfer have always been slow on this particular
machine.
right now, am transferring a 1.1gb file on my lan wired connection and
am topping out at 521 kb/sec! on a good day, it sometime goes up to 1100
kb/sec!
transfers between other machines on

using ip address, eg x.x.x.x
1. wifi router is connected to the net
terminal ssh between local machines is ok
nautilus/ssh between local machines is ok
