proprietary nvidia driver (currently I'm using NV driver). When I tried to
enable the nvidia driver, it informed me that xorg.conf was altered previously
and that I should "Call "sudo dpkg-reconfigure -
Today it happened again with the latest kernel available. After restart
and no changes to boot parameters it worked.

I still have a trouble with jumping to the beginning of a track but it's
no longer so obtrusive. Now it jumps correctly to the beginning of song,
starts playing, then it mutes for a few seconds and resumes playing
again. Clearly, there's still some problem but now it's not so serious.

The sound can be muted anyway. I should add I am using asus laptop. Soundcard
is HDA NVidia (Alsa mixer) and as a track to be controlled via keyboard is
selected PCM.
Now, there is another problem. Today I tried it again and there is no OSD
showing the volume level while adjusting the volume on

The same problem in Feisty on amd64. Setting static IP doesn't work. Any time I
close the "network settings" the changes are forgotten. Even changing back to
dhcp doesn't work. The networks looks unconfigured.
Network manager helped me get to the connection with dhcp, but I had no luck
with stat
I wanted to change the settings from using proxy (via automatic
configuration) to direct connection. Than I ran aptitude and it was
still trying to reach the internet through proxy.

Even when I fully increase the volume, it is still too quiet. My sound
card is integrated HDA Nvidia. I encountered this problem in Edgy, but
it seemed to be resolved in Feisty, now it looks like a regress

according to the release plans of Ubuntu, we will have a stable release
only once in a year. Dapper > (Edgy) > Feisty. That would lead to using
