Is there a way to install the updated Brasero without upgrading Karmic
to Lucid? This is a production machine and I have an xserver 1.7

I am having this same issue with a Pioneer DVR-218l SATA DVD Writer on
Karmic 9.10
I am unable to:
- Rip an Audio CD (Sound-juicer crashes or doesn't find the CD)
- Mount an Audio CD without crashing Nautilus
- Burn an Audio CD with Brasero
However, once the CD is in and nautilus has crashed, I
I have this same issue. Same drive (Pioneer DVR-218L SATA DVD+-R
burner).
Only Audio CDs affect it. Audio CDs crash nautilus and sound juicer
cannot access the drive. Interestingly, vlc can PLAY the disc.
Drive tested and works in Windows 7. Drive has only been in service a
week, doubt it's fault

I agree, omnibook should be in the Ubuntu Repos. I have a Toshiba

I see a fix has been committed, will this eventually show up in Karmic

Toshiba ACPI BIOS 1.20) and REALLY need this to work. My fan never goes
faster than low speed!
