sorry, I can't reproduce this bug on either of my machines (laptop /
desktop PC both upgraded to 9.10, suffered the same issue, cured ditto)
because I've fixed it by now.
fresh install on VB this evening returned no baffling behavior either.

"devkit-disks --dump" response with DVD inserted and correctly
recognized by Nautilus:
Showing information for /org/freedesktop/DeviceKit/Disks/devices/sda

Suspend/Wake up machine and re-ejecting DVD helps DVD icon appear in
Nautilus.
