"apt-get remove sudo auctex" before I could do a apt-get dist-upgrade
with this ppa added.

Your laptop is using an intel chipset and should therefore not be
affected by this bug.
My advice to you would be to open a new bug and attach your xorg.log -
I'm sure you will be getting more help there. :-)

It's because Intrepid uses an x server version that hasn't been released
as stable yet. In this release they made a change in the
ABI(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application_binary_interface) which
break drivers like fglrx.
If you use Ubuntu Hardy you won't have this problem.

I'm sorry! checked again on my intrepid system and got same results as
you. Thinking that it maybe would be solved in the latest evince svn and
poppler git i tried to compile it with also the same results.

Just tried to unpack on my system with success. No errors.
I would like to know if its a corruption somewhere else in your system.
Can you open up a terminal and try to unpack it with:
tar jxfv 72807-Apotheosis.tar.bz2
Please let me know if further explanation is needed.
