My indicator applet vanished and couldn't be reloaded, which disabled
sound completely. I use my laptop to perform a college radio show, and
this made it impossible today. Fortunately, the station has a computer,
so I used YouTube to play the Kinks live.

This has happened before with earlier versions. I am installing, things
are going swimmingly, and then I'm told that the grub installation has
failed, and without it, the computer will not boot. No kidding it won't
boot.
This is a recurring problem I have had with Ubuntu MATE
I wasn't doing anything; I was away from the computer when the error
showed up.

I purchased Majesty Gold Edition 2012-10-17, and still am getting the
"not available for your Ubuntu version" message, after a couple of
software-center upgrades. My current version is 5.4.1.3. For something
