Many apps fail to launch as a result. For instance, when I attempt to
run mysql-query-browser:

I was able to resolve this issue by manually setting "en-us" (replace
with whatever code you are using, such as "be" or "fr") under "Use the
following keyboard language" at Local Resource tab.

Setting "acpi=off" seems to delay the problem from occurring. But he
problem inevitably resurfaces, particularly when using resource
intensive applications such as Eclipse. I am using Dell Optiplex 755
desktop (4 GB RAM with Intel GMA X3100). The only surefire workaround is
turning off "Repeat keys
