Yes, I encounter this problem on latest 12.04 with vim version 7.3.429.
As Tim said, this was fix in patch 7.3.520.
I wonder if it is possible to upgrade official repository vim package to that
version ?

I get dbus source, and configure it with "--enable-verbose-mode".
After logging in as root:
# start dbus DBUS_VERBOSE=1
start: Job failed to start
And with "ps -A", no dbus related process can be found.
# DBUS_VERBOSE=1 dbus-launch

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: dbus
This bug looks like bug #430611.
On start up, I got message "init: dbus pre-start process (577)
terminated with status 1".
However, if manually start dbus with:
# service dbus start
I got "start: Job failed to start", and was unable to start it.
Forgot to mention that, I reinstalled that package with "Language
Support" tool.

When upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 with 'sudo aptitude dist-upgrade', this
happened.
After removing this package and some related ones, when upgrading to 9.10
finished, reinstall the package that error does not occur.
