on 17.10 ou 17.04, the only outcome is back to prompt.
It could be useful to have at least an "expired" notice or a negative
countdown.
I tried to use the command as a learning tool for users who didn't

it merely empties the file one wants to remove and leaves an empty
theuglyppa.list file in `/etc/apt/sources.list.d/`

copy - paste in terminal IS functional, but leads to
"file:///home/myself/filename" instead of "/home/myself/filename"

If, a new update/full-upgrade is entered, apt suggests an autoremove for kernel

If one performs the autoremove, it leaves the system with a single kernel :

Any trial to install fglrx provides the same crash : total freeze of the
desktop.
Only way to get out : root + chroot & purge of fglrx. I had the same problem
with 13.10 - 14.04 provides no cure.

Kernel 3.12 freshly released seems to solve.
I installed it on my 13.10 - wifi works - didn't have to re-patch.
Could somebody confirm that kernel 3.12 is ok for rt3290 ?

This bug causes up to 99% use of CPU.
On CPU Graph, it seems Pulseaudio monopolizes 1 core. (1 out of 2 on my
CoreDuo - 1 out of 4 on my ie3)
Workaround for now : pulseaudio --kill
