Python-qt4 is package in Ubuntu/main repository, so i guess it _has_
LTS. What do you mean with "Hardy is not an LTS release for Kubuntu" and
"the package goes out of support in roughly 6 months"?

I repeat, release 0.1.alpha2 fixed this bugs 1/2 year ago, but package
maintainer stops supporting it. If somebody helps me to propagate fixed
.deb to oficial repos, i will make it.

I have the same problem, my old version KDE and Gnome works fine but
when I try to use Synaptic in KDE 4.1 It never finishes doing the tasks.
When it does that my system becomes unusable and I can't start new
applications. I can use forcequit but I cant start anything else.
