last comment: part of this bug could be avoided simply by requiring root
access to run nvidia-settings. currently you can run it without root
access, which can confuse users. you still have to run it from terminal
with sudo for itt o work properly, even if the icon is right there and
it launches wi
confirmed by multiple people, needs fixing before final release, because
this will affect anyone using nvidia drivers who try to change any
settings with nvidia-settings

Okay, turns out you only need to install the flashplugin-nonfree package
to fix this, installing gnash is unneccessary. The issue is, as stated
above, probably having flash installed before hand on 7.04 with nsplugin
wrapper. i used the nspluginwrapper install script by kilz, over in
ubuntu forums.
Any suggestions for narrowing down the problem? i dont know if this is
the ubuntu plugin or what, but i want to explore this a little more
before reporting upstream in the bugzilla
