Okay, turns out you only need to install the flashplugin-nonfree package to fix this, installing gnash is unneccessary. The issue is, as stated above, probably having flash installed before hand on 7.04 with nsplugin wrapper. i used the nspluginwrapper install script by kilz, over in ubuntu forums.
