I'm having the exact same behavior. Dell T300 server running Ubuntu

eth0 fails, eth1 works flawlessly.

BCM5722 Gigabit Ethernet
Fresh install of 8.04 on my dell d620 and I can see networks but it
never connects.
In 7.10 it worked about 75% of the time.
