just so you know the problem with yahoo games occurred before your even
got to a page with a java applet. It happened on the page the was just
a static advertisement (no applets that I am aware of). That problem
does not exist any more for yahoo games (for me at least). The problem

My USB printer never shows up in the printer configuration dialog under
KDE's "system settings" and I can't print to my printer from any
application since it is not configured. lsusb shows the device exists.

create a new empty folder.

it will create an empty gallery.

No whitelisting the page does not avoid the problem. only way I could
find to avoid it is to disable or remove adblock plus. Also I am now

I tested it with karmic alpha 3 live cd. It suspends fine, but fails to
resume. on resume it just shows a black screen. Note the live cd uses
the open source video drivers, so these conditions might be slightly
different from the above report. I normally am using the nvidia
restricted drivers.
as far as I remember this was never resolved for me, but I am no longer
using Gnome(now using kubuntu) so I can't really test this. If it helps
the problem seemed to be rather random; some times it worked and some
times it didn't; sorry can no longer help with this.

I have just upgraded to kubuntu intrepid RC. And when the system starts
knetworkmanager shows the status of disconnected. but if i click on it
and select my wifi network it connects just fine. So the problem is it
_never_ connects automatically when the system boots up. It
for me, changing the print shortcut to some thing else and then back to
the print key temporally solved it untill i rebooted the system. after
that the problem returned.
for me after changing the shortcut completely(to shift+print) has solved
the problem for me.

It seems the issue has gotten worse in intrepid. each time i try to
resume from ram i just get a black screen on return. I disabled the
nvidia driver in jockey and that seems to be what fixed the "fan
problem". but now I am not sure what driver i am using for the nvidia

I think I am having this same problem. I am using the latest hardy.
the 'safe mode' does not help. I am using kubuntu also. I takes about
10 min to open firefox, and then it is very unstable. if i click on any
thing in it takes another 10 minutes to complete that action. I have
