Agreed with above posters. After being out of town all this past week,
I come back to a bunch of updates and these extra keys are now working
again.

Indeed, it seems that there are no longer any X events sent for these
extra keys - at least not as reported by xev (which always worked for me
before).
I am attaching my specific xorg.conf file, if anyone thinks that the
problem may be how Jaunty sets that up, you can look there, but it all
looks
A reminder that some may have forgotten, but if you still are getting the
problem where it cannot find the updated module, you might just need to do a:
sudo apt-get update
to get an updated listing of packages.
