I can confirm this behaviour on Lucid Alpha 3 updated today.
A single partition usb disk is not mounted or detected automatically, but
mounts fine manually.
Maybe it's related the fact that even gparted does not detect this usb disk.

I am testing the patched xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.2.1-1ubuntu6_i386.deb and

Hi, I solved the problem. Since my X31 is a 2673 model, the HAL script

Can't get microphone to work on ThinkPad Z60m Ubuntu

Hi, I bypassed the problem in a crude way.
Since the problem comes from the padlock_aes module that of course does not
find any hardware on my pc, I went in the /lib/modules/2.6.24-xxx/modules.alias
and I commented out the first two occurrences of AES that link to padlock and
geode hardware.
So,
Today I upgraded the system to 2.6.24-8 and the problem persists.
Is anybody working on this or maybe this is a dupe of something else?
Please, somebody has to do something, this is a showstopper for many people!
Thanks!

This is a duplicate of another bug (#189398). The problem is due to the new
kernel wanting to load the cryptographic modules like padlock_aes and
geode_aes. To solve it, just put them in the blacklist. In this way the generic
AES module gets loaded and wifi works. Hope it solves your problem too
I can totally confirm this behavior for a cisco aironet mp350 in my thinkpad
X31.
The kernel 2.6.24-5 hangs exactly at the same point as joenix.
I observe the same symptom in the Debian experimental 2.6.24, so it's maybe
an upstream regression. I'll compile a vanilla kernel tomorrow to check this.
I can confirm this bug.
