Unity fails to start with a 4K monitor attached
I do not remember when this changed, but at some point it started
working again. The problem now is getting occasional compiz lockups and
the driver reporting continuous page flip failed no space on device
errors.
So I cannot give you xrandr info with the monitor not working.

same problem appears on my daughters compaq deskpro ENS C400 with the
above named onboard soundchip. I installed her Xubuntu 6.10 due tue
performande reasons, as the machine is not the most modern stuff. But I
