I have a similiar issue with "sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config"
on 9.04. I get a new line back at the bash prompt with no additional
information. Also, this command was working normally on 8.10.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I think it would be a useful feature
to add. When you're browsing a compressed directory with dozens of dot
folders, it is helpful to be able to hide them.

I was thinking along similar lines recently. It would be handy if
Synaptic had a column in it's main window to sort packages by date
installed. That would also make it much easier to uninstall some
packages you've recently added while testing new programs.
