Is there any update on this issue? Is there any remedy or workaround
since alt-f2 is widely used?
(After all the ssh-agent/gnome-keyring trouble this is pretty

The proposition is to use a PostLogin/Default script to do
a) either ln -sf the real Xauthority to ~/.Xauthority
b) $ cat /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default

I'm having the same problems on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 . To debug this issue
I installed through apt-get the packages evolution-dbg and evolution-
data-server-dbg. In order to obtain more debugging logs, I ran the
following on a bash shell
# export E2K_DEBUG=4
# pkill -9 evolution
# evolution
