I can confirm this behavior on Karmic with Firefox 3.6.3 taken from the
Ubuntuzilla repository. I have Compiz enabled & NVidia GEforce Go 7900.
It is really annoying.
I can also confirm the bug stated in #40. Both really annoying.

Same problem. I've edited the appropriate file /etc/grub.d/00_header to
"set gfxpayload=1024x768x16". Then ran sudo update-grub to update the
grub.cfg file. I then open the grub.cfg file to verify & it is updated.
But when I reboot my computer I get the grub2 screen for OS selection,

As a recent ubuntu convert I can honestly say that the current behavior
of "Create Document" is completely useless. How often do "regular" users
want to create an "Empty File"? At a minimum templates should be
installed for creating:

2. OO Spreadsheet

I can verify the bug is still in Jaunty. Using NVidia driver version
180.44 (recommended driver) on a GEForce Go 7900 GS with Compiz enabled.
I used Savvas Radevic's fix as a workaround & it works but at the cost
of disabling screen savers.
