i installed few "sound software to test them.
when i tryed to start gnusound it killed my X session immediately.
after login in again, i tryed one more time, same effect.
the gnusound package in ubuntu repo should be removed or updated.
some info about my environment:

yes it definately still happens, here using fedora's kde 4.2.3..
i don't know about 4.3 though..

hi there,
when my mouse pointer hover on some element of the taskbar, i get "holes" in my
windows..
i can see my wallpaper through the hole.. like if the tooltip erased parts of
windows when it poped up.

i use konqueror for browsing..
i open a new tab, type in some address and when i press Enter key, konqueror
completely freeze for some 30sec..
it happens every now and then .. not all the time but quite often.
it happens when i press a link, or type in manually some address

i'm using latest jaunty (beta) with latest kde 4.2.2,
and i noticed "moving file to trash" was very slow.
it take few minutes to move a bunch of files to trash..
delete works as usual (fast) though.
i include hardinfo report for detailed information on my environment.

system hard lock few seconds after i insert a new blank dvd (dual layer) in my
drive.
it worked fine last week, (from intrepid ibex) before i update to jaunty.
it worked on hardy too and earlier.
harware didn't change, only thing that changed is the upgrade to jaunty.

i used "#update-rc.d -f gdm remove" to start in text mode.
i prefer to start X myself through startx only when needed..
then i noticed i had no audio anymore.
to resume:
1) if i start the system in graphical mode through gdm or kdm, i do have sound
working properly.
