I think I had the same problem on a Dell Latitude E4300 (Core 2/P9300)
and the interesting thing was that the overload happened mostly when the
laptop was being charged and when I removed the AC adapter to run on
battery, after some minutes, the laptop was responsible again. In my

I reinstalled my Maverick (64 bit -> back 32 bit) and the suspend was
frozen almost every time. Now I installed 2.6.36 from:

and seems to fix the suspend again on 32 bit.

Hmm, it is in unstable only. Will it be in Lucid automatically? AFAIK
lucid grabs the packages only from testing.
(I checked the Ubuntu release policy and I see that it is only possible
to get OpenCV 2.0 to Lucid, so forget about Karmic/Jaunty in this bug
