For the real Windows executable (.exe) Wine notify me that the file are
not marked as executable and the I've to copy this file on my internal
storage and then set the execute bit on
For the ELF linux binary there's no way, if I rename it appending .exe
the system try to execute this file via Wine
What about simple ELF executables? They doesn't work anymore!
Futhermore the .exe files won't executes in the same way, because Wine tells me
that this files are not marked as executable.
Now on Maverick you cannot run .exe and simple ELF executables
For me is a problem because I've done a work
I can confirm also on my 2 systems.
I experienced various random freezes, not related to any specific
action, also using a virtual teminal and sadly no KP messages appeared,
simply a total system freeze without keyboard leds blink.
System A :
Sempron 2800 +, Nvidia chipset + onboard vga

Seem to be solved!
After I move the PC in another room, without any other pc running close
to it no more kernel panics are issued.
I had verified the overheating of the components, but everything was
okay.
I believe that this problem has occurred as a result of a lack of
immunity to electro-magn

Recently I have got a VIA Epia mini-itx motherboard.
Randomly it drop in kernel panic, but when many connections from the clients
are established,
kernel panic becames more frequent and the machine becomes useless.
My attempts were as follows :
- Kernels releases from 2.6

No problem with the same document in OpenOffice 2.3 on feisty
No problem with the same document in OpenOffice 2.4 (form official site) on
feisty

Ok.
1. Open an empty document with OpenOffice Writer
2. Type some text
3. Set font size to 300 (manually)
4. Now the text disappear
If you set the zoom under 100% you can see it agan.
I think this is a "visual render" issue : OpenOffice has some problem to
render the font above a certain effec

HI, I have attached the gdb file following the instruction you gave to
me.
I hope I performed the correct actions.
I noticed that the freeze (not a crash) happens when i do a counter
clockwise rotation.

I open one picture from a directory, I rotate it and save it.
EOG go automatically to the following picture then I rotate it and I
save it.
Now EOG freeze, it don't go to the third picture. I need to close it and
reopen it.

Tankyou Jussi, I agree with you.
With my post I have underlined that with the PackardBell Easynote 1902
whith VIA chipset , beginning from Edgy to actual Feisty, this BUG has
not been resolved yet.
I gave simply my experience as a contibution to the developers.
Further comments I wrote, are only
I have the same problem, beginning from Edgy (Kernel 2.6.17), with my
laptop PackardBell Easynote R1902 with VIA chipset.
I always fix the problem by appending "acpi=force irqpoll" to kernel
string.
I have to do that in grub configuration file, at every kernel upgrade.
I think this is a tremend
