I am also experiencing this problem on Intrepid with firefox
3.0.3+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1, ubufox 0.6~b1-0ubuntu4 and TMP 0.3.7
final. If I disable ubufox or TMP the problem goes away.

Yes, go ahead and mark it fixed. Sorry to waste your time. I had been
trying to get it working for several days with no success so I decided
to report the problem. Of course it started working right after I did
that.

Of course I would finally manage to fix this shortly after reporting the
bug. I still don't know what the problem was though. I had removed
restricted-manager, restricted-manager-core, linux-restricted-modules,
linux-restricted-modules-generic, linux-restricted-
modules-2.6.22-14-generic and nvid
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new
Under kernel 2.6.22-14 neither nvidia-glx nor nvidia-glx-new will load.
Using modprobe on either one returns: "FATAL: error running install
command." They work fine under 2.6.22-12. Card is 6800GT.
