Same issue for me here, in my case I used 1.75 or 1.88 for my 3200x1800
screen (xps 15 2013). I keep my 16.04 64bit system very updated, so this
update was probably installed in the last two or three days. Since then,
every time I try to scale 1.5 or more, the UI gets 2X. 1.38 is handled
correctly,
